The Israeli army chief has prepared a new plan to seize as much territory in Gaza as possible.

According to a report by Israel’s Channel 12, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has devised a plan to intensify ground operations in Gaza.

Sources cited by the outlet have described this proposal as a “plan to occupy Gaza.”

The reported plan is seen as an alternative to the controversial Rafah settlement camp project, which Halevi is reportedly opposed to.

The plan will be implemented if no agreement is reached to end the war after the proposed 60-day ceasefire, and it is believed that the Israeli forces will gradually take control of more areas than they currently hold.

According to another Israeli media outlet, Prime Minister Netanyahu has prevented Halevi from presenting the plan to Israel’s security cabinet and has blocked further discussion by the ministers who were previously briefed.
