Pakistan Stuns West Indies with 5-Wicket Triumph in Thrilling ODI Opener

Pakistan defeated the host West Indies by 5 wickets in the first match of the three-match ODI series, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
In the match played in Trinidad, Pakistan won the toss against the host West Indies and decided to field first.
The West Indies team was all out for 280 runs in 49 overs. Evin Lewis was prominent with 60 runs.
Pakistan easily chased the West Indies’ target of 281 runs in the 49th over with the loss of 5 wickets. On behalf of the Green Shirts, Hasan Nawaz remained not out with 63 runs and Hussain Talat with 41 runs.
Pakistani batter Hasan Nawaz made his ODI debut, and Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema presented Hasan Nawaz with his debut cap. Fellow players and support staff expressed their best wishes for Hasan Nawaz.
In the first match against West Indies, Pakistan’s team included Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Sufiyan Muqeem.

West Indies Innings

The host West Indies had a poor start against Pakistan, with Brandon King getting out at a total score of just 4 runs.
After the first wicket fell, a 77-run partnership was formed between Evin Lewis and Carter, but then Carter was dismissed for 30 runs. West Indies suffered their third loss with Lewis, who was out for 60 runs.
After that, captain Shai Hope played an innings of 55 runs and Roston Chase scored 53 runs. Rutherford scored 10 runs, Gudakesh Motie made 31 runs, while Shamar Joseph scored 8 runs and Shepherd made 4 runs.
Thus, the entire West Indies team was all out for 280 runs in 49 overs.
On behalf of Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi showcased brilliant bowling, taking 4 wickets. Naseem Shah took 3 wickets, while Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Salman Agha took one wicket each.

Pakistan Innings

In response to West Indies’ target of 281 runs, Pakistan’s start was not good, with opener Saim Ayub getting out for just 5 runs.
After the first wicket fell, Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam batted responsibly and moved the team’s score forward, but then Abdullah was dismissed for 29 runs. After that, Babar was also out for 47 runs.
Captain Mohammad Rizwan scored a fifty but was dismissed for 53 runs, while Salman Ali Agha made 23 runs.
After 5 wickets fell, young Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Talat batted responsibly and completed the target in the 49th over, leading the team to victory. Hasan Nawaz remained not out on 63 runs and Hussain Talat on 41 runs.
On behalf of West Indies, Shamar Joseph took 2 wickets, while Seales, Motie, and Roston Chase took one wicket each.
After the 5-wicket victory, Pakistan has gained a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
