Ducky Bhai Caught in Gambling App Scandal! Who Else Is Betting Big in Pakistan?

Pakistani YouTuber and social media influencer Saad Ur Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) at Lahore Airport last Sunday and presented before a judicial magistrate.

According to the NCCIA, Ducky Bhai was working as the country manager for an illegal gambling app and was promoting various betting platforms, such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365, and B9 Game, through his YouTube channel.

It is alleged that he received millions of rupees from the gambling app during promotional campaigns. He was found to be involved in promoting 12 different gambling applications.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had summoned Ducky Bhai multiple times to join the investigation, but due to repeated non-compliance, his name was added to the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL). He was eventually arrested at the airport while attempting to flee the country.

A case against Ducky Bhai was registered by NCCIA Lahore on the night of August 17 under sections 13 (electronic forgery), 14 (electronic fraud), 25 (spamming), and 26 (spoofing) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, as well as sections 294-B (offering prizes related to trade) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

On the other hand, sources claim that some prominent Pakistani personalities linked to cricket are also involved in this scandal, but the NCCIA has not yet disclosed their names.

Earlier this year, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to the FIA, State Bank, PTA, and PEMRA when Barrister Imran Rashed exposed the growing threat of illegal online gambling in Pakistan.

He revealed that gambling apps bypass banking regulations using digital wallets, enabling money laundering and financial fraud. Citing constitutional, legal, and Islamic prohibitions, Barrister Imran Rashed requested the court to ban these apps, stop their advertisements on social media, and enforce strict financial controls.
