India Humiliated Army Officers on KBC? Outrage Erupts Over Modi’s Shameless Publicity Stunt!

Before India’s Independence Day, public anger is brewing over the presentation of army officers, humiliated at the hands of Pakistan, as showpieces. But this anger has been termed not as a reaction to defeat but as the use of military uniforms for political publicity and personal gains.

Two senior women officers of the Indian Army, Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, who were seen giving media briefings during the recent “Operation Sindoor,” are facing severe criticism for being presented as guests on the famous TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

Social media users have called it a shameful attempt by the Modi government to use the armed forces for political gain and propaganda.

In this special Independence Day episode, Indian Navy Commander Prerna Deosthalee will also be included, who last year became the first woman to command a warship.

In the program’s teaser, these officers are shown being grandly welcomed by Amitabh Bachchan, but viewers have questioned how it is permissible under military protocol to send officers in uniform to entertainment programs right after a military operation.

One Indian social media user wrote, “Have you ever seen such a spectacle in any serious country after a military operation? The current government is using the army for its dirty politics and hollow nationalism; this is shameful.”

Another user said, “Our army used to be above politics and far from publicity, but now it has been turned into a tool for promoting politicians’ brands.”

One user remarked, “They were humiliated on the ground, and now they’ve come to become heroes on Kaun Banega Crorepati? They’re trying to turn the flop show of Operation Sindoor into a blockbuster. Pakistan has left them in such a state that now they have to weave stories on TV to save face!”

Another user said, “We were hoping India would narrate its tales of fake bravery in a Bollywood film, but they’ve gone and done it on Kaun Banega Crorepati.”

Interestingly, according to the Indian Army’s own regulations, a uniform cannot be worn at cultural or social events, nor at public places, restaurants, or during travel in public transport, unless there is written permission from the commanding officer. Despite this, the Modi government has trampled these regulations for its political show.

This is not the first time the commercial or political use of military uniforms has come to light in India.

Recently, Indian actor Mohanlal, who was given the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, was accused of using his uniform for commercial purposes in advertisements for the Kerala government, although he denied these allegations.

These actions by the Modi government once again show that instead of keeping the army as a neutral national institution in India, it has been turned into a weapon for political games and public perception management, which is unacceptable in any civilized country.
