Hawaii Airports Grounded: Maui Flights Cancelled Hilo Closed Honolulu Staggers Operations
All flights to and from Maui’s Kahului Airport, the island’s main hub, are cancelled, leaving passengers stranded and sheltering in the terminal.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation announced on social media that those stuck will be re-screened in the morning before any departures can resume.
Hilo International Airport remains completely shut, while Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is slowly staggering back to life with baggage screening restarted and inter-island and trans-Pacific flights trickling through.

Hilo International Airport remains closed.
Kahului Airport status: All flights to and from OGG have been cancelled. There are passengers sheltering in the terminal. In the morning, those sheltering will be rescreened prior to departures.
Baggage screening was temporarily suspended at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) during the first wave of arrivals. Baggage screening at HNL has resumed, and flights will restart with interisland flights and transpacific flights being staggered.
